Through the project activity of biological restoration of forests, it is planned to restore 1021 ha of forests that were contaminated with mines, forests in which due to war activities could not be carried out in a timely manner and which are affected by drying and decay. The planned funds for the implementation of this activity amount to HRK 46,730,991, and make up slightly more than 12% of the total project value. This activity was very successful in 2020, and was planned and carried out as follows:
Execution of preparatory forest-breeding works is planned on 205.86 ha, and they were performed on a total of 222.03 ha (108%). Planting was done on the same surface.
White willow (Salix alba) was planted on 66.06 ha, black poplar (Populus nigra) on 23.52 ha, pedunculate oak (Quercus robur) on 79.99 ha, which are also the planned areas, while field ash (Fraxinus angustifolia) planted on 52.46 ha which is more than planned for 2020.
All seedlings were produced in the nurseries of Hrvatske šume d.o.o. thus achieving security of delivery as well as compliance with legal regulations in the field of forest reproductive material.
The care of the stands was carried out according to plan: by digging on 122.71 ha and by caring for the young on 123 ha.
Protection of forest seedlings by installing Tuly’s pipes was performed on the planned 0.36 ha, while the installation of the fence was performed on 25.10 km, which is slightly more than planned for the previous year.
We expect good results still!
