On 14 January 2022, after touring the terrain, the third of the planned four educational and recreational trails “Biljsko jezero” was taken over from the contractor Energogradnja. The trail is located along the northern shore of Lake Bilja, and is about 2 km long. By visiting the trail, visitors can find out about fish and their endangerment within the Natura 2000 area at six stations. This includes getting to know the fish species in the project area, regionally extinct fish species, and how and on which bait to catch fish. In addition to this trail, there is an area forested with pedunculate oak seedlings. This educational-recreational trail is part of the landscaping around Lake Bilja (Old Drava) where this year’s World Fishing Championship will be held. It will complete this world event with its content.
