COOPERATION BETWEEN THE NATURAVITA PROJECT AND THE ECO-HERIT @ GE MATTERS PROJECT

At the beginning of March, 30 students and 15 of their teachers stayed in Osijek-Baranja County as guests of the Retfala Primary School, which hosted them as part of the Eco-Herit @ ge Matters project implemented within the Erasmus + KA2 program. The aim of this project is to improve students’ knowledge and skills related to cultural and environmental heritage as resources for new job development. The partners in the project are 2 schools from Portugal, schools from Italy, Greece and Romania whose students came for a seven-day visit to the students of Retfala Elementary School to develop new knowledge.

The cooperation between Retfala Elementary School and the Naturavita project began last year with trainings at the Podravlje Educational and Visitor Center, and they decided to use this cooperation as part of the Eco-Herit @ ge Matters project, which they joined three years ago.

On March 10, members of the project team Eco-Herit @ ge Matters visited the Educational and Visitor Center “Podravlje”, and the gathering began with the screening of a promo film about the Naturavita project. The training continued on the Iris educational trail, where the participants walked to the lookout point from which the nest of the bald eagle can be observed. During the walk, Dalibor Tonc, an expert associate for education on the Naturavita project, told them all about the wild animals that live in this area and the dangers of invasive species that negatively affect the ecosystem. In the end, the children planted one oak seedling for each school and country as a lasting memory of this cooperation between two EU projects.
