Construction works on educational-visitory center „Podravlje“ are completed

After several months of work, on February 3,  the renovated building of the old forest house locality in the Osijek suburb of Podravlje was taken over from Iver d.o.o. Čepin. Due to its distance from the suburb of Podravlje, the building is designed to be energy independent. It has its own 10 Kw solar power plant and solar collectors for hot water preparation. The heating of the building during the colder months was solved by environmentally friendly pellet heating.  As the facility is about 1.5 km away from the last houses in the settlement of Podravlje, it has no connection to the water supply network but has a draw-well. By treating raw water in the engine room of the facility, drinking and sanitary water is obtained. Wastewater is treated in a biological treatment plant. Center “Podravlje” illuminates the ice lighting. The interior is arranged on the ground floor and three mezzanines with a total area of 258 m2. On the ground floor there is an engine room and a toilet. On the first mezzanine floor is the main entrance and a large lecture hall. On the second mezzanine floor there are two smaller lecture halls, and in the attic there is an office, a smaller kitchen, a toilet and a storage space. As part of the landscaping of the Center inside the fence and outside the fence, for educational purposes, a total of 12 trees of indigenous tree species were planted, of which two seedlings of horticultural forms of hornbeam, oak and black poplar, and one seedling of small-leaved linden, one giant linden and two seedlings of hornbeam and two seedlings of birch. With the completion of construction works, the first phase of renovation and establishment of the Educational and Visitor Center “Podravlje” was completed. the second phase, the interior will be enriched with interior decoration, furniture will be procured, as well as audiovisual equipment and network equipment for WiFi signal distribution. Once a devastated and neglected building of the forest house, now as an educational and visitor center it has shone with new splendor.
