8,5 km of fire breaks with elements of forest road completed

One of the activities of the Naturavita project is the construction of fire breaks with elements of the forest road, which is closely linked to the mine clearance dynamics of mine suspected areas. A total of 32.98 km of fire breaks with elements of forest road are planned to be constructed in the project area. The target of this activity is to build an optimal network of fire braks with elemens of forest road.

Since the demining activity has been completed, 8.5 km of fire averages with elements of the forest road have been completed in:

  • Fire break with elements of forest road Bjelobrdski rit II in the area of forestry Osijek, economic unit Osijek Podravina Forests, length is 3048,12 m, value of works is 1.389.709,86 kn.
  • Fire break with elements of forest road Biljski rit III in the area of forestry Darda, economic unit The Dardian Forests, length is 835,72  m, value of works is 395.830,44 kn.
  • Fire break with elements of forest road Dravica IV in the area of forestry Darda, economic unit The Kopačevo Danube Forests, length is 924,99 m, value of works is  398.367,45kn.
  • Fire break with elements of forest road Josipovački pašnjak in the area of forestry Osijek, economic unit The Osijek Podravina Forests , length is 1982,92 m, value of works is 835.942,24 kn.
  • Fire break with elements of forest road Veliki Bajar in the area of forestry Osijek, economic unit The Osijek Podravina Forests , length is 749,22 m, value of works is 351.349,62 kn.
  • Fire break with elements of forest road Vrbak in the area of forestry Osijek, economic unit The Osijek Podravina Forests , length is 953,38 m, value of works is 424.949,36 kn. 

During the designation routes of fire breaks with elements of forest road and during their construction, maximum attention was paid attention to adaptation to the field conditions and flood character of forest habitats in the project area. The existing forest breaks were used to the maximum to minimize use of woody and other vegetation. During the construction, all activities are adapted to the conditions of nature protection.
